Nepenthes inermis $45.00

Small plants with a leafspan of 2-3 inches. Most with small immature pitchers as you see in the image. Nepenthes inermis is a highland plant native to West Sumatra. This is a moderately fast grower. It is one of our favorite Nepenthes, definitely on our 'must-have' list. Pitchers are golden green, the upper pitchers are famous for having no peristome. Please take a look at the picture of an upper trap in our picture gallery. Your Nepenthes inermis will be shipped bare-root, with damp Sphagnum moss to protect the roots.

Cultivation

As is true of other highland Nepenthes species, N. inermis prefers a well-drained media, which usually includes a generous portion of long-fiber Sphagnum moss. Other soil ingredients may include peat moss, washed sand, horticultural charcoal, orchid bark and Osmunda fiber. Water as the surface of the soil just begins to get dry. Never let it sit in water. Highland Nepenthes require cool nights to grow well and form pitchers. They like to be kept humid. In general, night temperatures should drop below 60F nightly. Given cool nights, warm days well into the 80s or 90s are tolerated.
