Medium plants with a leafspan of 3-5 inches. Most with immature pitchers just beginning to show the white band. Nepenthes albomarginata 'Penang' is considered to be an intermediate species. It is native to Malaysia, and the mature traps are famous for the white band that forms below the peristone. These plants have not developed their color, but this clone is the 'Penang Red'. Nepenthes albomarginata can be an easy Nepenthes to grow. It prefers a well-drained media, similar to the highland species, which usually includes a generous portion of long-fiber Sphagnum moss. Other soil ingredients may include peat moss, washed sand, horticultural charcoal, orchid bark and Osmunda fiber. Water as the surface of the soil just begins to get dry. Never let it sit in water. Intermediate Nepenthes prefer a bit more warmth, nights should remain above 60F. They like to be kept humid. Don't allow them to get too hot however, they won't appreciate temps much above 90F. Your Nepenthes albomarginata will be shipped bare-root, with damp Sphagnum moss to protect the roots.
