Small plants with a leafspan of 2-4 inches. Most with small pitchers, starting to develop as you see in the image. Nepenthes singalana is a highland plant native to Sumatra. This is the narrow-pitchered form from Mount Tujuh. This is a steady but slow grower. This form develops dark purple pitchers, with a wide peristome. Your Nepenthes singalana will be shipped bare-root, with damp Sphagnum moss to protect the roots.
Cultivation
As is true of other highland Nepenthes species, N. singalana prefers a well-drained media, which usually includes a generous portion of long-fiber Sphagnum moss. Other soil ingredients may include peat moss, washed sand, horticultural charcoal, orchid bark and Osmunda fiber. Water as the surface of the soil just begins to get dry. Never let it sit in water. Highland Nepenthes require cool nights to grow well and form pitchers. They like to be kept humid. In general, night temperatures should drop below 60F nightly. Given cool nights, warm days well into the 80s or 90s are tolerated, at least for short periods.
