Large plants with a leafspan of 8-12 inches. All different seed-grown plants. The picture shows a similar plant growing in a 6 inch pot. Please note: the plant in the photo is representative of the plant you will receive. It is not the actual plant you will receive. Nepenthes burbidgeae is a highland plant native to Borneo. This can be an easy Nepenthes to grow. In our collection it is a fast grower. The mature pitchers are rather striking in appearance, and this species is considered a 'must-have' by Neps collectors. Your Nepenthes burbidgeae will be shipped bare-root, with damp Sphagnum moss to protect the roots.
Cultivation
As is true of other highland Nepenthes species, it prefers a well-drained media, which usually includes a generous portion of long-fiber Sphagnum moss. Other soil ingredients may include peat moss, washed sand, horticultural charcoal, orchid bark and Osmunda fiber. Water as the surface of the soil just begins to get dry. Never let it sit in water. Highland Nepenthes require cool nights to grow well and form pitchers. They like to be kept humid. In general, night temperatures should drop below 60F nightly. Given cool nights, warm days well into the 80s or 90s are tolerated.
