Pinguicula mesophytica has been found in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Tropical Pings prefer a loose, open soil. We use an all-mineral mix comprised of an aquatic planting medium based on arcilite, a common clay-based mineral used in soil-less planting mixes. Also includes horticultural silica sand, iron oxide and a very small amount of urea-free soluble plant food. Another mix we have used is 1 part each of peat, sand, vermiculite, perlite and pumice.
