I bought two of these from Cascade Carnivores after another online site sent me some very bad venus flytraps. The difference between life and death for these plants is definitely in shipping and handling. The other site i went to delivered them wrapped in cloth with their main tap root intact and wrapped up in rubber-bands in ziplock baggies. I lost all of them in a matter of days due to a weak root system.
However, today i received 2 of the Akai Ryu plants from cascade carnivores, and i must say i am greatly impressed. Ron West and his team (?) ensured great plant-life potential by shipping them in very well-thought of (and creative) containers. They were shipped in standard 3 inch plastic pots, and the root systems were already VERY well established! I transplanted them quickly after inspecting one of the root systems, and can't wait to see their potential growths. The traps look to be well fed and well taken care of, and i highly advise anyone considering to buy this plant to do so. Neither of the two i got from them look prone to death, and i am highly satisfied with the service.
