Pinguicula ehlersiae is one of the Mexican butterworts. This is a highly variable species, with flower color from purple to white. This one is the 'typical' form, with pink flowers. It prefers a loose, open soil. We use an all mineral mix which contains an aquatic planting medium based on arcilite, a common clay-based mineral used in soil-less planting mixes. Also includes silica sand and a very small amount of iron oxide. Another good mix is composed of 1 part each of peat, sand, vermiculite, perlite and pumice.
Please note: The image showing for this plant is not the plant you will receive. You will receive 1 plant of this species, hybrid or cultivar for the price listed, which will be shipped bare root, not potted. It might or might not be blooming, but it will be carefully wrapped in damp sphagnum to protect it on its trip.
