Nepenthes ramispina $36.00

Medium, well established plants in vining stage. Most with upper pitchers. Nepenthes ramispina is a highland plant native to Malaysia, and the mature traps can become nearly black, with a lime green interior. Beautiful! The plant in the image is a specimen which is not vining yet, shown only to represent the species. Upper pitchers are usually green. Ramispina often grows basals shoots, which begin growing lower traps again. Your Nepenthes ramispina will be shipped bare-root, with damp Sphagnum moss to protect the roots.

Cultivation

Nepenthes ramispina can be an easy Nepenthes to grow. It prefers a well-drained media, which usually includes a generous portion of long-fiber Sphagnum moss. Other soil ingredients may include peat moss, washed sand, horticultural charcoal, orchid bark and Osmunda fiber. Water as the surface of the soil just begins to get dry. Never let it sit in water. Highland Nepenthes require cool nights to grow well and form pitchers. They like to be kept humid. In general, night temperatures should drop below 60F to as low as 45 - 50. Given cool nights, warm days into the 80s are tolerated. The ramispina plants in our collection have survived short periods of temperatures in the 90s, but they did temporarily stop forming pitchers.
